Residents in the Maricopa area who have unusual antiques and the stories behind them may soon get a call from “American Pickers.” According to InMaricopa, the History Channel series is planning to film in Arizona, Southern California and Nevada in December.
Producers say they are searching for private collections across the region, but the announcement does not confirm a filming stop in Maricopa. The show has visited Maricopa before, including a stop at Raceway Bar & Grill, which opened in 2008.
Associate producer Amanda Jane Stern said the team is looking for interesting people with distinctive collections and extraordinary stories. The series follows antique hunters as they search for rare objects, forgotten relics and pieces of American history to buy.
The show’s list of sought-after items includes vintage toys, motorcycles, old advertising signs, gas station memorabilia and early furniture. Producers also said they are interested in folk art, military items, jukeboxes and other unusual collections, but items from businesses or public places will not be considered.
People interested in submitting a collection can email americanpickers@cineflix.com or call 646-493-2184. Submissions should include the collector’s name, city, state, phone number, collection location, photos, a description and the stories behind the items.
